This year’s Women in Law will be “A Conversation with Judy Smith“, Crisis Management Expert, lawyer, and the inspiration for the hit TV show Scandal. She will be speaking with KISS 104.1 and B-98.5 morning news anchor Condace Pressley about her professional experiences in crisis management, politics and building a business.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Buckhead Theatre (3110 Roswell Road, Atlanta GA 30305).

About Judy Smith
Judy A. Smith is the founder and President of Smith & Company, a leading strategic advisory firm with offices in Washington D.C., Los Angeles and New York. Over the last 25 years, Ms. Smith has brought her unique combination of communication skills, media savvy, legal and political acumen to clients facing a wide array of issues and challenges throughout the United States and abroad. Prior to founding Smith & Company, Ms. Smith served as Special Assistant and Deputy Press Secretary to President George H. W. Bush. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Boston University and graduated from the American University Washington College of Law. As a result of her wide ranging and ground breaking career, Shonda Rhimes, creator of ABC’s hit television dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, developed a television drama about the world of crisis management inspired by Ms. Smith. The series entitled, Scandal, revolves around the life and work of a professional fixer. Ms. Smith served as Co-Executive Producer of the project and provides insight and technical expertise on crisis management issues.

About Condace Pressley
Condace Pressley is an accomplished, award-winning broadcaster. She anchors news mornings on KISS 104.1 and on B-98.5 in addition to her leadership responsibilities with News 95-5 and AM 750 WSB. She is WSB’s Manager of Programming Operations and leads Community Affairs for all five CMG Atlanta radio stations. This UGA alum and Marietta native began her career as weekend anchor. She is also producer and host of the Sunday show Perspectives. Profiled in 2014 by The HistoryMakers, Condace is a former President of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Atlanta chapter’s 2012 Pioneer Black Journalist.
