ALL WOMEN

FORWARD

The Atlanta Women's Foundation's 25th year culminates on June 30th, 2024. This spring, all women (and men!) are coming together to support AWF!

Our past is marked by the tireless efforts of those who paved the way for the Atlanta Women's Foundation (AWF). Their vision and hard work have shaped AWF into a force for good in the lives of Atlanta's women and girls. Since its inception in 1998, AWF has invested over $27 million into programs and services that help women and girls live healthy, safe, financially self-sufficient lives in our community.

Today, we continue to identify barriers that hinder the success of women and girls, particularly those impacted by poverty, for whom access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities can be scarce. Your generous support allows us to fulfill our mission by investing in local nonprofits working to break these barriers. We are so grateful!

As AWF builds toward its bright future, we are committed to deepening and expanding our work to change outcomes and provide opportunities for the women and girls of metro Atlanta. Together, with your help, this vital work
is possible.

Celebrating 25 Years

The Atlanta Women's Foundation is proud to celebrate 25 years of being a catalyst for change in the lives of women and girls. There have been many beautiful moments along the way that our community has participated in, and we would love to hear about them!

AWF has touched the lives of many individuals and families over the past 25 years. Being a part of the Two-Generation Initiative has allowed me to see their work up close and personal. Without the program funding, we may not have been able to expand our reach in our desired communities with the 2-generation population.

I remember when Ruth West, Stephanie Davis, and I met with Alicia Phillip to take The Atlanta Women's Fund from being a fund to an independent foundation, separate from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. It was friendly, easy, and happy for all involved. We were then on our own.

We were doing small things 25 years ago, distributing small amounts of money. Look where we are now! Over the next 25 years, I hope to see AWF continue to grow, helping women and girls in ever-expanding ways.

My favorite AWF memory is at the Numbers Too Big To Ignore Luncheon on October 10, 2019, where [AWF] presented the 2019 Sue Wieland Embracing Possibility Award to ACE and our client Juanisa Kimbrough, founder of Ms. Niecy's Home Away from Home Learning Center, Inc.
