Staff Spotlight: Allison Bodner Smith

This month we are spotlighting AWF’s newest staff member, Allison Bodner Smith. Allison joined the staff this month as our Donor Relations Manager. In this role, she is responsible for donor-centered fundraising initiatives, managing volunteer and donor related events, sustaining and strengthening donor societies, managing current corporate and foundation grants, amongst other key items benefiting AWF.
Allison joins AWF with extensive nonprofit fundraising experience from Ian’s Friends Foundation, The Epstein School, Jewish Fertility Foundation, The Resource Institute, Helping Hands Teen Volunteers, and The Atlanta College of Art, to name a few. We are also so fortunate that she has an aesthetic eye after dabbling in the interior design world, where she has been written up in periodicals for her work. This is much appreciated!
When asked about her aspirations in this role and what brought her to AWF, Allison mentions her past diagnosis and experience with breast cancer having changed her life. “The exposure to women’s-based organizations helped in creating a turning point to my path and recovery, and the idea of making a difference to help better the lives of women and girls was an immediate draw. Joining AWF is an incredible opportunity to continue and expand this passion.”
Allison’s biggest accomplishment is her family. “To me, family is everything. I am incredibly lucky that my parents, sister, brother, and their families all live here in Atlanta”.

degree in Social Work.
Allison lives in Sandy Springs with her husband Jason, two children Abigail and Jordan, and her devoted dog, Bella. In her spare time, she likes to spend time outdoors, traveling, spending time with friends, volunteering, and of course, being with family.
Welcome to the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, Allison!
