I remember when The Atlanta Women's Foundation was established in the 1980's by a group of visionary women. This bold and brave move to lift up the needs of women locally and comprehensively was a cause for rejoicing.

At the time, I worked professionally for the Presbyterian Church (USA) on women's issues nationally. When I retired from that work, I was inspired to establish "Eagles Wings," a women's interfaith center. We focused on developing a welcoming and healing place for women survivors of incest and sexual abuse. The Atlanta Women's Foundation provided a greatly appreciated grant at one point to support our efforts.

I know of no other agency that has the breadth of vision and the will to assess and address such a large range of needs on behalf of women and girls. It gives me great satisfaction to donate to The Atlanta Women's Foundation in the spirit of those first women, to join my resources with those of so many others who want to improve life for women and girls in Atlanta.
